About LYC

As stated in the 2017-2018 LYC Handbook,

“The Lakeport Yacht Club is an organized group which has found pleasure through boating, with emphasis on boating safety. The Lakeport Yacht Club has operated continuously since its inception. The Lakeport Yacht Club promotes boating as an inexpensive sport that can be enjoyed by persons of all ages. Young men and women are especially encouraged to participate. The Lakeport Yacht Club is a nonprofit incorporated organization.

WHO BELONGS TO THE LAKEPORT YACHT CLUB?

Persons of good character who are interested in boating are invited to join. There are no occupational, educational, religious, or ethnic bars to membership.

It is not necessary to own a boat to be a member.”

Lakeport Yacht Club is a California nonprofit mutual benefit corporation (C0380809). Its bylaws provide for leadership by the general membership and an elected board of directors. Currently, Michael Green serves as commodore and Terry Knight as vice commodore, with three vacant seats. Please contact the commodore to learn more about leadership opportunities on the board.
